For the few who are interested, here’s a potted summary of where we come from (our web designer said we had to do this – even though what matters in our view is our clients).
Dyke Ruscoe has its origins over a hundred years ago, with founders who were members of the Society of Incorporated Accountants - itself set up in opposition to the restrictive practices of the Institute of Chartered Accountants
In 1948 the firm found its current format, initially as Dyke & Ruscoe, later becoming Dyke Ruscoe & Hayes and more recently the oh-so-snappy-and-modern Dyke Ruscoe.
As legislation changed the firm took on the Chartered Certified Accountants qualification, then followed its own advice and become a limited company at the dawn of the 21st century.
Clients come from all walks of life, though they inevitably reflect the area we serve – so lots of farmers (some would say we’re farming experts), food businesses, machinery dealers and IT people, from all over the UK. Retired people also figure highly – so we’re well set up for cradle-to-the-grave services, with the odd farm animal and computer thrown in.
Now with close to 20 staff, the firm is one of the largest in the area, though we remain fiercely independent. That’s not to say that we are inward-looking: as paid-up members of the Accelerate network of independent accountants we have access to international connections and specialist assistance through Crowe Global if the need arises.
